Current Situation
Today, carrier metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) are collected over a specified time period and presented historically. These results often represent averages across certain carriers, lanes, and/or service levels.
Goals and Objectives
This limits taking any action proactively to improve performance. This use case provides visibility in real-time carrier movements, indicating whether specified pickup and delivery times will be met. This gives users the ability to take corrective action, thereby improving service levels and reducing costs as a result.
Technology Deployed
IoT, personal devices, cloud, big data and analytics, mobile, APIs, telematics, connectivity services, and live vehicle tracking
Use Case Summary
Key performance metrics, scorecards, and carrier ratings are continuously updated and communicated via dashboards, leading to improved decision support in real time. Some metrics are reflective of carrier’s performance, while others are outside factors (e.g., weather and traffic).
