Digital Mission

Multi-access Edge Networking

Current Situation

The reliable delivery of local connectivity options along with linkages of local edge environments to core cloud environments is a critical requirement for enabling innovative CX and OT services. The inability to consistently deliver highly available and continuously operating local connections is the primary barrier to delivering these services at city, country, and global scales.

Goals and Objectives

Digital transformation success at the edge depends in part upon an organization’s ability to quickly and securely connect all customer- and organization-owned devices in a location and to connect distributed assets to centralized cloud environments to ensure greater resiliency and centralized asset management.

Technology Deployed

5G, Wi-Fi 6, SD-WAN/Branch, WAF, CDN, cloud-based networking, power over Ethernet, autonomous networking

Use Case Summary

Delivery of high availability and continuously operating local services even in circumstances of wide area network degradation and/or failure; enablement of frictionless and dynamic delivery of network connectivity and network security in fixed, temporary, and/or mobile/disconnected locations; and convergence of emergency power and resiliency for lighting, cameras, and connectivity (e.g., Smart Buildings)
