Advanced Authentication

Current Situation

As hotels, restaurants, and travel organizations are increasingly connected to guests across the entire travel/service journey and staff with mobile devices, multiple points of authentication are required in real time. Multifactor authentication is becoming table stakes, but authentication must take place across multiple systems and vast amounts of data, creating a complex environment for storing and exporting data and allowing access to systems.

Goals and Objectives

Reduce the complexity of authentication across multiple systems and environments with numerous passwords by guests and staff, thereby decreasing risk of multiple failure points. Strong authentication will be contextualized combined with multiple layers.

Technology Deployed

Bluetooth, biometrics, facial recognition, voice technology, cloud, customer identity and access management solutions (CIAM), analytics, single sign-on (SSO), provisioning solutions, firewall, self-sovereign identity (SSI), loyalty programs, and blockchain

Use Case Summary

Next-generation authentication will provide hotels, restaurants, and travel providers with methods of verifying users (guests and staff) without more complex passwords and automatically assign them to frequent flier/loyalty programs. Authentication will be streamlined and secure with contextualized and multiple factors plus the use of advanced technologies such as biometrics, self-sovereign identity, and AI.
