Workforce Skills Partnerships

Current Situation

Curriculums are often not designed to help students develop in-demand skills, especially around emerging technologies. Institutions struggle to keep up with changing market conditions and training students to develop in-demand tech skills. In recent years, schools have begun partnering with tech companies and nonprofits to develop and teach curriculum on skills such as coding and cloud engineering.

Goals and Objectives

Partner with leading tech companies and nonprofit organizations to develop curriculum that aligns with existing and projected needs of employers as well as local, state, and national economies to help prepare students for good jobs after school.

Cloud platforms, virtual assessments, LMS, learning analytics and AI, virtual learning tools/platforms, and MOOCs

Use Case Summary

Institutions partner with private sector technology companies to embed skills training directly into course curriculums. Embedded courses will be online or in-person classes, with courses that are for credit and part of a graduating curriculum but linked to, provided by, and taught by a specific private sector partner. Curriculums are continuously updated as the skill needs of tech companies and the broader workforce shifts.
