Cashierless Checkout

Current Situation

Self-checkout is the primary cashierless checkout method in use today, but these systems typically require more space than most retailers want to give up to checkouts, and sales/inventory tracking is not perfect, since consumers physically check themselves out.

Goals and Objectives

Cashierless checkout automates the creation of the sales basket and may execute the consumer payment without scanning articles/products, as in traditional checkout methods.

Use Case Summary

Cashierless checkout enables automated checkout based on AI, computer vision, and sensor-based “reads” of the product deposited in the consumer “basket,” freeing space to sell more goods and speeding the consumer through a frictionless store visit.
