Equitable Student Connectivity

Current Situation

Around the world, there are significant pockets of underserved populations that do not have access to the internet. As more government and education services are provided digitally, as more jobs require digital skills, and as more learning happens online, lack of connectivity restricts disconnected groups and students from fully participating in virtual learning programs or developing the skills needed to succeed inside and outside of the classroom.

Goals and Objectives

Increase access to high-speed internet/broadband for all students, with a particular focus on underserved student populations, to ensure students can learn from anywhere at any time, regardless of socioeconomic status or barriers.

Technology Deployed

Public/school Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspots and boosters, connected school buses

Use Case Summary

Schools work to provide high-speed internet access for all students, focusing on bringing disconnected students online and increasing internet usage, student engagement, and digital skills development. These initiatives focus on providing public Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspots and boosters, and other connectivity devices and infrastructure.
